| How to Measure for Furniture | | _________________________________________________________________________ |  Printable Measure Form | | Is the furniture the right scale for your room? | Tape together sheets of newspaper to match the Width X Depth of the furniture pieces you’re considering. Place the newsprint pieces on the floor--and walk around them. Put dining chairs on the newsprint to help visualize the mass and 34” height. Is there enough clearance to walk by? Is it too large for the space or too small in scale? Perhaps a different floor arrangement works better. It’s easy to move newsprint until you’re satisfied with the results. | | Will your sofa or chair fit through the door? Or up the stairs? | Measure all doorways, exterior and interior, that the new furniture needs to clear.
